A post-doctoral Position Available
			  We have funds to hire a post-doctoral research associate for one year, with  the possible extension for an additional year. The post-doc will perform  genomics-based research for a recently funded project on the plant pathogenic  soil fungus Rhizoctonia solani. The incumbent will be responsible for cloning  DNA, preparing fungal protoplasts for developing an optical genetic map and  for constructing full length and normalized cDNA libraries to assist in  genome annotation and assembly process. The research will include molecular  biology techniques and some computational tasks with phylogenetic analysis  programs. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in microbiology, mycology,  plant pathology, genetics, or related field, have excellent writing skills,  be familiar with modern molecular techniques, and have a minimum of two years  experience working with fungal biology and genetics. Experience with  computational genome analysis is not required but is desirable. The position  will be housed in the Center for Integrated Fungal Research within the  Department of Plant Pathology at North Carolina State University and will operate under the supervision of Dr.  Marc A. Cubeta. AA/EOE.
